How online music therapy work
What a session looks like
Sessions run on Zoom for 30 to 60 minutes. We might sing, play, write songs, improvise or move, always shaped around your goals and the way you communicate.

What you need
A phone, tablet or computer with a camera
An internet connection
A quiet, comfortable space
Something to make sound with: a pot and spoon or your voice is enough
Who it's for
Children, teenagers and adults, independently or with a parent, whānau member or support worker nearby. It also suits people who live rurally or feel more at ease at home.
Not sure online is right for you? We'll talk it through in the free call.
Questions
Does music therapy work online?
Yes, for many people. Being at home can help people feel relaxed, and we'll check together that it's a good fit.
Is online right for me, or the person I support?
Online works well for many children and adults, including people with disabilities, whether they join on their own or with someone nearby to help. If you're unsure, we'll work it out together in the free call.
What if focusing on a screen is hard?
That's common, and we can adapt. Sessions can be shorter and full of movement and variety, with someone nearby to help with instruments if needed. We'll talk about what works in the free call.
Can sessions be funded?
Often, yes. See ways to fund your sessions.
